DONATION TO CSGC

Dear Friends, Alumni, and Students,

By making a donation to The Centre for the Study of Globalization and Culture (CSGC), you can help enrich and foster the teaching and researches on literary and cultural studies in the Department of Comparative Literature, HKU.

Since its start in 1999, CSGC has organized numerous seminars and international conferences to promote researches in global and China studies. (Please refer here for a review of seminars / workshop series offered by CSGC) In 2002, a summer institute with major funding provided by the Ford Foundation with a matching grant from the Vice Chancellor’s Office was organized. Thanks to a generous donation by a Comparative Literature alumnus, all the activities since 2004 have been successfully accomplished with enthusiastic responses.

Unfortunately, the balance of CSGC’s budget since April 2007 will be unable to continue its high-quality research activities in collaboration with the local and the overseas universities. We need the urgent support of the community, most importantly our alumni, to continue these important interdisciplinary dialogues. We are writing to draw your attention to this urgent need. Your kind support would be essential to help consolidate our effort to promote inter-cultural studies in today’s globalized world.
