I am in love with you

Durga was a beautiful blind woman with a talent of pottery making. She was poor and lived with her widowed mother in a simple house. She crossed path with Rohit, who had saved her life when she was about to fall over a cliff. The pair spent time together and fell in love. At one point, Durga created a clay bust of Rohit but weeped because she could not see it. Rohit told her that he would find a way to help her seeing again.

When Durga’s mother was killed due to the action of another suitor, Rohit promised to marry her so that he could take care of her. He took her to a hospital where she could receive surgery to regain her eyesight. While she was recovering and waiting the bandages to be removed, Rohit left to prepare for their new home. The jealous suitor stepped in and apparently killed Rohit.

Upon receiving the news of Rohit’s death, Durga became depressed. Dr. Prasad, who performed the surgery, took her in as his adopted daughter. As part of his plan to help her recovering, he took her to Switzerland. In there, Durga met Raj, a businessman who fell in love with her. He, too, was grieving a dead friend and recognized that Durga was also lonely. Through his persistence and kindness, Durga finally accepted Raj’s marriage proposal. Unknown to both, Durga’s first love and Raj’s dead friend were the same person, Rohit.

On the day of Raj and Durga’s engagement, Raj was told that Rohit was alive and in a reclusive hospital, where he had been in coma for six months. Raj was reunited with Rohit and they returned to the house in time for the engagement celebration. Rohit was shocked to discover that Raj’s fiancée was his beloved Durga, but he kept it as a secret.

Raj introduced Rohit to Durga, but Rohit purposely did not speak in front of her so as to avoid her recognizing his voice. Durga later overheard Rohit speaking, recognized his voice and confronted him, wanting to be sure whether he was Rohit as she never saw his face before the surgery. Dr. Prasad told her that Rohit was not her long lost love, but it turned out that the doctor was just following Rohit’s instructions to lie to her. Durga finally accepted this and did not question Rohit anymore.

On the day of the wedding ceremony, Raj publicly confronted the pair, apparently in anger. He accused Rohit of trying to steal Durga from him. Rohit quietly accepted the accusation. However, Durga could not remain silent and spoke up for her love, exposing the truth of their past. It was then revealed that Raj’s angry behaviour was a ruse to make them revealing the truth. He gladly stepped aside to reunite the lovers to let them getting married and shared their happiness as if it was his own.
