Synopsis:
Set in Tin Shui Wai,
the so-called "City of Sadness," the new film is sympathetic to aging
women fending for themselves in an urban society. It also features how young
people deal with their everyday existence with resourcefulness. It evokes the
poignancy of humanity in a transparent documentary style without sentimentalizing
and reducing Tin Shui Wai to
a site of mere tragedy, trauma and hysteria. The ordinary people in her film
are courageous, compassionate and resilient.
The Meet-the-Artist session will be conducted in Cantonese. English interpretation
will be provided upon request.
